Associate Professor Jens Starke, DTU Mathematics, is one out of ten principal investigators at the new Centre for Ocean Life financed by the foundation Villum Fonden and managed by DTU Aqua.
The Centre for Ocean Life researchers will investigate how environmental changes influence life in the ocean.
Danish ocean research
The objective of the Centre for Ocean Life is to bring Danish ocean research together across disciplines and universities to investigate fundamental biological and physical processes in the ocean.
The Centre for Ocean Life, which is composed of researchers from DTU Aqua, DTU Physics, DTU Mathematics, University of Copenhagen and Roskilde University, cooperates internationally with researchers from world-leading universities.
DTU Mathematics contributes to the centre research with the formulation and analysis of mathematical models in the field of dynamical systems.
Villum Fonden supports the Centre for Ocean Life with DKK 30 million for a period of five years.
